Letterman: The Last Giant of Late Night by Jason Zinoman - ★★★★★

fascinating but semi-tragic look at Letterman. Essentially the Third book in a new trilogy about the late night wars, so interesting to mix the personalities of Johnny, Jay and Dave. Very much enjoyed reading about the early part of Dave and the risks that he and the writers would take. Also to see all of his former writers dominate comedy with the Simpsons and other future jobs. His style of ironic dislike was so unique and copied, but now doesn't exist at all in late night. Very interesting book.
