a great start, full of long sentences and descriptions of writing in cafes in paris. Never really goes anywhere because I'm not sure Hemingway wants to compare Hadley and Zelda or really tell us what happened with Hadley. The book really isn't about anything, except the beauty of Hemingway's lines and what Paris was like in those days. Kind of a weak ending for Hemingway. Bunch of good stories, then a long couple about fitzgerald and then book fizzles out. Doesn't help that he's writing about himself and can't invent anything to give the story more story. Reminds me of Capotes last book Answered prayers. Very good in parts but not a complete story.
