The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (Oz #1) by L. Frank Baum - ★★★★

I'm surprised to say I'd never read the Wizard of Oz, but I found it there on my Kindle in the free book section, and I thought I'd give it a whirl. There wasn't that much there that wasn't in the movie. It's a basic plot, they walk around from place to place, getting the things that they need to defeat the boss at the end. But still, what a beautiful and basic story. It turns out that you will had all the things you needed in the beginning. The point of the quest was only to find out that you had it all inside to begin with. Kind of the classic originator of that story, at least for me and a lot of people who saw the movie when they were children. A nice quick read a good deal at the price of free. I enjoyed reading the Wizard of Oz.
