About

Deek Jackson is a Scottish musician, comedian, and satirist; the creator and sole performer of FKN Newz, a weekly anarchic satirical news broadcast active 2006–2021. Deek plays a manic, sweary news anchor delivering the day’s headlines as a deadpan inversion of how the mainstream tells them — recurring targets include war, central banking, religion, the mainstream media, and what Deek calls “moronicy.” Stock opening: “hello landless peasant slaves, welcome to the FKN newz… here are tonight headlies.”

Originally published episodes on revver.com under the handle vydi (the now-dead domain vydi.com appears in early episode metadata), then continued on YouTube and the previously-active fknnewz.com domain (now offline). Also released the 10-track album The Time Of Your Life (a.k.a. “Only One Planet”) and the 6-video _theastronomers.org companion project. Thomas Hunt met Deek in Scotland; the official archive of Deek’s work is now hosted at 1n2.org/fkn/ with his permission. License on all FKN material: CC BY-NC-ND 2.5 per the original Revver feed.

Sources: the original Revver RSS feed (3068-line catalog snapshot, ~100 episodes with rich metadata); the 49 GB FKN Archive (videos / audio / otter.ai transcripts); the Deek Jackson album liner notes. See FKN Archive for the full corpus and About this archive for build notes.
