The Thomas Hunt Show

One host, one pandemic, and a live chat doing the work of a phone line. Mined from the archive, not from memory.

The show that started the week the world shut down

The Thomas Hunt Show went live on the World Crypto Network on 2020-03-03 — episode #001 had “CoronaVirus” in the title — and signed off for the last time on 2020-11-08. This site is what the transcripts say happened in between.

It began as a daily live call-in show in the worst news month in living memory: 15 episodes in the first fifteen days, through Black Monday, the circuit breakers, and the March 13 crash — the biggest call-in day in the archive, with Bitcoin at $4,806 in the title. Then the THS tag quietly fell off the titles. The show didn’t stop: the archive holds 47 more untagged “Morning Talk Show” broadcasts from 2020-03-18 to 2020-06-03 — roughly 95 additional hours — before the tag returned in June.

By summer it had settled into a news desk: Thomas reading the day’s stories — pandemic, protests, the Fed, and the price — with the live chat as the only co-host. When episode numbers reappeared in September the counter read #089, which is the show quietly telling you it had considered all those untagged spring mornings episodes all along. The last numbered broadcast is #096, on 2020-11-08. After that the archive shows Thomas still on the air — The Bitcoin Group, Today in Bitcoin, then Twitter Spaces — but the Thomas Hunt Show never returns.

Why it ended is not something a transcript can fully answer, and this site doesn’t guess. What the tape does show, in Thomas’s own words, is a year of friction with the platforms carrying the show: demonetization in March for saying “coronavirus,” a video deleted mid-broadcast in June, a copyright claim with no appeal, and a live chat that one day simply stopped arriving. The receipts are below.

Orange is the THS-tagged canon this site analyzes. Gray is the untagged spring — the same show, same host, same time slot, minus the three letters in the title. April and May 2020 are not a hiatus; they are a labeling gap.

The platform pressure ledger

Surfaced from the transcripts wherever the show talks about its own distribution. Verbatim, Whisper’s spelling. No commentary added.

“And of course, the virus that one must not say its name, even by saying its name, like I did in the title of this show, oh, we could be demonetized.”2020-03-16
“In case anyone's thinking about donation, it's a great time to donate because pretty much all of our videos are being demonetized.”2020-03-17
“an Atlantic article that references the stasi in relation to Trump's Modus operandi and he linked to our video from yesterday on YouTube and did you see that there Twitter flag Does so we are now we're at the big time everybody so be sure to give us a thumbs up in a share Reading out an article that may help you right there”2020-06-04
“I'm sad to announce that we were briefly censored yesterday.”2020-06-25
“I'm not sure the chat is working. We might have been shadow band. We don't get a chat anymore.”2020-07-24

Thomas’s framing of the ending was simply that he and the platform disagreed. The corpus is left to speak for itself.
