Sam's Town opened 1979 — Boyd Gaming's eponymous property (named after founder Sam Boyd), and the company's flagship from inception. Western-themed; 645 rooms; the Sam's Town format spread to other Boyd markets (Sam's Town Shreveport, Tunica, etc.). Boyd-owned from day one.
